One of the island's not-so-best-kept secrets. You'll find lines of locals each day at lunch time and a lively bunch around dinner. "Chicken Shack" uses a secret blend of seasoning and slow roasts chickens over their uniquely designed rotisseries. Other menu favorites include: ribs, steak, pork chops, meatloaf, conch, and fish. Sides include Mac-n-cheese, Puerto Rican-style rice and beans and, of course, Johnny Cakes!

This Puerto Rican influenced joint has some of the best and reasonably priced steaks on island. Featuring local Puerto Rican and West Indian favorites like Goat Stew, Mofongo, Tostones, Plaintains ... and ask for the off-menu Casava Fries! It’s not fancy, but the food is DELISH!!

The Spicy Grill
This place has the BEST BBQ ribs on the island... Mouth-watering, finger-licking good! You’ll find other favorites like steak, chicken and lamb and plenty of fried food. This is not the spot for the health-conscious ... but they do have a couple good vegetarian options!

Quality Grocery & Deli
This little convenience store and deli may not look like much on the outside, but it has the best Cubanos this side of Cuba! Stop in and takeout early for a great hike to the beach. Homemade sub rolls, sandwiches, salads and West Indian pates.

MontPellier Domino Club
Join Norma and crew for a laid back breakfast and lunch at the Domino Club. Home to the ‘Beer Drinking Pigs’ the Domino Club is a located in the heart of the rain forest and serves up the best Mama Wanna (a local rum concoction) on St. Croix.
If you only have time for a drink, buy the pigs a (non-alcoholic) beer and enjoy one yourself.
