St Croix St Patrick’s Day Parade

With a colorful history since 1969. the St Croix St Patrick’s Day Parade is simply legendary. Take an island soaked in rum, add a sprinkling of Irish heritage, a sea of green and you’ve got yourself a party. And let’s face it, St Croix LOVES to party!

Takes place yearly on the Saturday closest to St Patrick’s Day in Christiansted.
11 am Parade starts on Company Street
Live music immediately follows the parade at various local venues

With no open container laws, revelers adorned in green bar hop and dance in and out of the parade. This is St Croix’s green version of Mardi Gras and hands down one of my favorite events on the St Croix calendar. Taking place on the Saturday closest to March 17 (St Patrick’s Day) the parade starts at 11am – but the festivities start well before the parade with pre-parade breakfast at downtown Christiansted restaurants and aboard private boats lining the harbor.

You may wonder why St Croix has such a big St Patrick’s Day celebration. The island actually has a deep history and connection with Ireland. Learn more about St Croix’s Irish Connection

Following the parade, the celebration stretches on well into the evening with live music at Christiansted venues along the boardwalk and on Company Street. And yes, there’s plenty of Guinness to go around (and Heineken and Cruzan rum and Captain Morgan and well, you name it!)
