Buck Island Reef National Monument Snorkeling Charters

Buck Island Reef National Monument is a must for every visitor whether you snorkel the underwater trail or just enjoy the beach! Proclaimed as a National Monument in 1961 by John F. Kennedy, Buck Island is considered to be "one of the finest marine gardens in the Caribbean Sea." Buck Island's main beauty lies in the surrounding coral reef ecosystem and its unique underwater trail.

Here you will snorkel amongst endangered elkhorn and staghorn coral formations teeming with colorful reef fish. After snorkeling, head to Turtle Beach on the west side of Buck Island for some rest and relaxation. Turtle Beach was rated one of the world's most beautiful beaches by National Geographic!

You can sign up for a full or half-day charter on either a power or sailboat, any day of the week!

My wife and I had an AWESOME experience with Delaney and Hunter parasailing. They were both very knowledgeable and personable, making the more nervous people in our group feel nice and comfortable before going up. Throughout, we felt safe and comforted that at any given moment the two of them knew exactly what they were doing and that we were in great, capable hands. Well worth the price for the awesome experience.

Very well organised from start to finish.
Key (skipper) was excellent and took us to Buck island where we snorkelled for a while and that was fantastic, then back to a beach for 45 mins.

What a lovely way to spend a morning.

Would definitely do it again.

Excellent day with Captain Key and first mate Lila aboard Smooth Recovery for a private charter out to Buck Island. My family and I got lucky with excellent conditions for January. My father spotted a sleepy nurse shark, Lila pointed out a battery of giant barracuda that kept us ladies company, and we had two friendly dolphins join is at the beach. Captain Key was informative yet relaxed, and was nice enough to accommodate a quick trip into Csted for lunch before returning us to the marina. Would definitely recommend and thanks again! 🇻🇮❤️

Our half day adventure on the Good Times with Captain Bob was the highlight of our family vacation! I have never had so much fun! Captain Bob and his first mate Haley were so personable and provided the best trip to Buck Island we could have ever asked for. The best memories were made that day, and the best jokes as well! We had our wedding aboard the 'Celebration' with Caribbean Sea Adventure, and it was absolutely perfect. Captain Key and his first mate Nolan made the entire sunset cruise to Green Cay feel magical and stress-free. From the seamless coordination with Jackie in the office to the beautiful, calm waters for our ceremony, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Five stars all the way!

We had such an amazing time on this charter with Captain Allie and crew member Lila! The tour was the perfect length, enough time to snorkel, relax, and enjoy without ever feeling rushed. The snorkeling gear was high quality, and they even gave a quick lesson that made us feel totally confident before getting in the water. The amenities onboard were spot on, and the rum punch was absolutely delicious,such a fun way to end the trip!

Captain Allie and Lila were both friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly love what they do. We felt safe, relaxed, and completely taken care of the whole time. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience , highly recommend this tour!

This trip was nothing short of incredible!! Captain Allie and her crew were absolutely awesome! They made it so much fun and were also extremely informative. Those 3 women were such a joy to be around! The boat was super clean, and the ride wasn’t rough at all. The snorkeling was gorgeous beyond my wildest dreams. I wish we would have done the whole day instead of the half.

We did a half-day snorkeling tour to Buck Island as a family. We spent some time swimming and relaxing at Turtle Beach, then explored the stunning, expansive coral reef. The crew was incredibly friendly and professional, taking the time to connect with each guest.

They were especially attentive to everyone’s needs—helping with gear fitting, guiding us through the coral reef, and ensuring our kids were safe and comfortable by bringing along a flotation ring they could hold onto for breaks.

After the snorkeling, we were all treated to refreshing drinks—alcoholic cocktails for the adults and non-alcoholic ones for the kids. There was lots of chatting and laughter throughout.

An amazing experience with breathtaking views, Mike and Peter were so informative and supportive they genuinely ensure you have fun! We did the Wave dancer full day, I’m a non swimmer and still felt comfortable to snorkel through the underwater trail thanks to Mike and Peter. Staff is so welcoming and kind definitely recommend you do this if in St Croix

My husband and I went on the 1/2 day Buck Island excursion. We had no prior snorkeling experience but the crew was knowledgeable and patient. While we learned that we personally prefer snorkeling on Turtle Beach to the open water near the reef, it was an incredible experience and a beautiful day on the water. Loved getting to learn a little bit about the history of the island as well. The rum punch on the drive back was also delicious. Definitely recommend!

Went out this morning for the Half Day snorkeling trip to Buck Island Beach and the reefs and the experience was perfect! Captain Allie and First Mate CC were incredible. Their knowledge, experience, and interaction with the guests was top notch.

I cannot give enough credit to this operation or the crew.

I will certainly do a full day excursion on my next visit to this fantastic island!

Best experience on the Island hands down! Lila, Cece and Allie were an amazing crew and will definitely come back for the half-day snorkel experience.

I would recommend to refer to their website so you come prepared and schedule your trip ahead of time! (reef-safe sunscreen, snacks, water, etc.)
